Stats: 32 lbs. and 38 in.
Clothes: You’re still wearing a 4T in everything… for the most part. Sometimes you can wear a 3T, and other times you need a 5T. In shoes, you’re a size 9. I’m not sure where you got your big feet, but it definitely wasn’t momma’s genes! We can still dress you in whatever we want each day, but you insist on picking out your own shoes.
Nicknames: D, dbunny
Sleep: You go to bed at night at 8:30 p.m., and you’re usually down for a good 11-12 hours. You gave up napping in January, and that has definitely been a rough transition. You’re so tired, and you NEED a nap, but you just won’t do it. We watch a lot of movies instead, just as “quiet time.” Mommy and Daddy have actually resorted to driving you around in the car until you pass out on particularly bad afternoons.
Favorites: Playdough + any figurine (you make dresses and hats for all of your “guys”), your Little Tikes Disney castle, Legos, jumping on the bed (something you’re not allowed to do), stickers, YouTube, Disney movies, and your kitty – Halle.
Other Fun Facts:
– You’re about to be a big sister! You say you’re “excited” and that you’re going to help mommy with baby Frances, but you still have no idea what’s about to go down in our house. We made a lot of changes early on (moving you to a big girl bed, moving you to a new room, getting out the baby gear, etc.), and we’re keeping your schedule as normal and as busy as usual in hopes that you’ll adapt better when little sister does arrive. You really don’t like change, so we’re praying for a smooth transition to a family of four!
– You’re still a picky eater. Entrees around here usually consist of macaroni and cheese, peanut butter sandwiches or pepperoni. You love pizza, any type of berry (but particularly blackberries), and anything with sugar – Pop Tarts, cake, candy, fruit snacks, juice, etc. Outside of pepperoni and the occasional chicken nugget, you still absolutely refuse to eat meat. You get your unhealthy taste buds from your momma
– You love school (also known as Parent’s Day Out). You simply light up when you see Miss. Shannon coming to get you from your car seat. You get to color, paint, play Playdough, go outside, run in the gym, play toys, sing, read, have a snack – basically any toddler’s dream. You went two {half} days a week this past school year, but since you loved it so much we’ve enrolled you in three days a week this fall.
– Along the same lines, you love dance class at Grammy and Poppy Jim’s studio. You’re normally a total bear leading up to class (since you usually fall asleep in the car on the way there and don’t want to be woke up!). But, as soon as Aunt Madeline says it’s time for class to begin, you’re a changed kid. You also know where Grammy keeps the candy, and absolutely refuse to leave until you’ve shared Sixlets with Poppy. You’ve also been known to bust out in the “Good, Good Toes” song randomly.
– You have decided that you’re scared of everything. There was an earthworm in our garage ONE TIME, and it has taken you months to get over it. We have literally had to carry you to and from the car while you cry, “HELP ME!” and point out invisible worms. We couldn’t even mention that we were going to leave for awhile, because you would start freaking out and insist to be held starting right that very minute. You’re also scared of leaves on the sidewalk, tractors that are parked in Papaw’s driveway, and bugs.
– Potty training is the worst. You decided you were “ready” by telling us you wanted to sit on the potty, and then actually going like a big girl. So, even with our doubts, we dove in head first and got out the potty chair and the Pull-Ups. We did the three day potty training boot camp, and your teachers have been working with you at school. We have candy and stickers as rewards, and even do the “Potty Train” dance. You were doing so well for awhile, and then you TOTALLY JUST GAVE UP. The only place you go potty anymore is school, because they have some sort of magic fairy pixie dust or something. One of your teachers even gave mommy the same froggy potty you use at school, and you’re still not interested. In summary, we’re back to diapers. You’ll go when you’re ready to go – which is hopefully by Kindergarten.
– One of your favorite activities is going shopping with mommy and Mamaw. You love going to Target, or “Red O” as you call it, because you know there is a Starbucks with apple juice there. Plus you know that we usually get “chicken and fries” when we’re shopping, and you’re all about those french fries.
– Your daddy is still your best friend.
We love you baby girl. Always and forever.
