Ok, I swear. I’m done with the Dorothy birthday madness. No more birthday posts. You can come out of hiding now.
At least for another 55 days. Then it’s my birfday, and we all know how hugely important that is. Did I mention 54 days until Christmas? Momma wants a beach vacation.
Yeah, let’s go with that. Today let’s talk about the upcoming holidays with a little oh hey, friday action.
uno | boo!
I’m winning this Mom of the Year contest, FYI. I did so well with our Halloween costumes for the Black Hat Bash, that I’ve completely neglected today. As in, actual Halloween.
We’re meeting the besties in Noblesville to do a little trick-or-treating with the girls, and I have exactly zero ideas as to what Dorothy is going to be. It was pretty simple yesterday – she was going to be a monkey (Curious George to be exact) – but then I woke up today.
Indiana is drunk. As in, it might snow tonight. SNOW.
Whatever she wears, it will be underneath her winter coat and hat. Maybe I’ll just leave her in her new Janie & Jack cat pajamas… or maybe we’ll forgo trick-or-treating entirely and the mommas will drink wine while watching scary movies instead…
Yep. That will probably happen.
dos | and speaking of Christmas…
I feel like Christmas decor everywhere has taken as step up this year. I’m head over heels for the Woodland Wonder Collection at Big Lots. And this H&M pillow. And everything Target. Maybe it’s because we didn’t even put up our tree last year (one month olds are hard), but I’m contemplating going overboard with Christmas decor.
Like, red plaid everywhere.
It’s going to be magical.
tres | thanksgiving
I’ve been informed that I have to host a Thanksgiving. Apparently the family thinks that because I have a new house that I’m now big girl enough to host holidays. Phhht.
It’s probably going to go something like Rachel making a trifle on Friends.
Of course, my mom will have to make all the food and bring it here – because obviously – but I’m sure I’ll screw up my one contribution to the meal. I mean, my mom has been baking pies for me to take to my inlaws’ houses on holidays since I got married. Six and a half years ago.
quatro | santa
And what exactly does Santa get a one-year-old who just had a birthday?
I’m leaning toward this.
She’ll pass my skills by the time she’s two. She gets to host holidays when she’s three.
But seriously – what traditions does Santa have at your house? This year will be our first “real” time, and I’m not sure where to start.
cinco | flashback friday
Because it’s still Halloween, here’s a little flashback to 2005.
Happy Halloween, my pretties!
