I have to keep reminding myself that sometimes it’s okay to drop all the SAHM duties and simply enjoy time with my daughter. It’s hard to think that the floor doesn’t have to be mopped, and the laundry can sit in a pile for another day, because my daughter is only going to be like this for a nanosecond.
Friday we had what I would like to call a “good for the soul” kind of day. In a recent development, my besties Kristin and Amanda both have Fridays off from work. I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty excited about the possibilities this opens up. So, to celebrate, we soaked up the sun and chlorine with the babies and drank wine while they napped.
Because that’s how everyone spends their Friday afternoons, right?
I’m going to preface with the fact that getting two babies to the pool is not an easy task, even with three grown women. They need swim diapers, then sunscreen, then their swimsuits and cover ups, then we have to pack a diaper bag, and I haven’t even gotten towels, toys and oh yeah – mom. That’s probably why I ended up sans-sunscreen and fried to a crisp.
But, the struggles were all worth it as soon as we hit that baby pool.
The girls splashed.
They giggled at each other.
They splashed some more.
And it was pretty much the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. Like I said, good for the soul…
A good lather of aloe vera, a bottle of sangria, and a lot of girl talk later, I can say that was the best Friday I’ve had in awhile. I see this as the premise for an upcoming Uncorked & Unwined party. More on that later this week!
Okay, so Wine-ese night followed by The Fault In Our Stars with my sisters and my bestie Betty didn’t hurt either. Hey, sometimes momma needs a full day of fun. 😉
On another note: I’m considering signing Dorothy and I up for Mommy & Me swim lessons. Does anyone have any experience with this? I’m specifically looking at the Monon Center, so if you’re local I would love to hear your thoughts!

Love it all! It was so fun to see the girls interacting and having such a blast…and the mommies too. (Amanda needs to get to work on that mommy title soon :))

HAHAHA… I have fun being the mommy assistant!!! We DEF need to have more of those Fridays.
