Things are not as they appear, my dear.
I find it difficult to communicate my Stitch Fixes through the lens of my iPhone. You, as a reader, don’t get to feel the fabric. You don’t get to see where the clothes aren’t quite right. You only see what I manage to capture in my ridiculous #selfies.
When putting together this post, I looked at the photos and thought, “Why did I send back that black polka dot shirt? It looks pretty good on me!”
Then I remembered. But I’ll let you keep reading as to why.
I feel like that was the theme of this Fix. Everything looks pretty good in the photos (maybe I’m just getting better at styling?), but in real life I really only had a few options to keep. It’s like wearing makeup magically made my clothes look that much more awesome. Ha.
There is one thing in this post that actually is as it appears, however. When did my hair get so stinkin’ long?!
Anyway. Moving on.
Kensie Monika Mini Dot Short Sleeve Sweater
Sadly, the pictures make this shirt look better than it did in real life. You know those short sleeved sweaters that your grandmother always wore? This is it.
The sheer back did modernize this blouse a little, but the sleeves were too long. And, the price tag ($78 for a shirt?!) sent it back immediately.
41Hawthorn Addison Striped Knit Cardigan
This is pretty much what you’ll find on my Pinterest board, so you’re probably wondering why I didn’t keep it.
That would be because it would have been destroyed in a matter of seconds.
What you can’t tell in this photo is that this cardigan is a SUPER lightweight knit. So much so, that I was afraid my wedding ring was going to snag and ruin it before I could send it back. If it had been a jersey, it would be in my closet right now. I need durability, people!
But I kind of love the stripe and the fit. I know I saw this kind of cardigan at karisma during my Sip Happens Party, so you can guess where I’m headed. 😉
Pomelo Vina Cabochon Stone Crystal Pendant
After my Las Vegas Fix, I mentioned that I wanted to see more statement pieces.
Well this certainly makes a statement.
I just wasn’t crazy about it. The colors weren’t my favorite, and the shape was a little… odd. However, I appreciate the effort. I hope to see more necklaces along this line in future Fixes!
Papermoon Lexis Tribal Print Henley Tank Top – KEEP!
I’m kind of loving the aztec + 80s vibe I get from this tank. I’m still working on exactly how to style this, but I can tell it will be extremely versatile.
Plus, this print is most definitely outside of my “box.” AmIright?
Margaret M Kayla Skinny Jean
Ode to the red jeans:
WHY MUST YOU BE $108?!
I want nothing more than to wear you every single day. But that would be obvious to everyone around me. Because you’re bright red. Of course.
Do not fear. I will be finding your less expensive twin.
And there you have it. Another Stitch Fix in the books. What do you think of my pick? Would you have bit the bullet and just bought the AH-MAZING red jeans? Pretty sure if I hadn’t just forked out a massive amount of money on my house, those babies would be mine.
