Remember when I said we were having a low-key party in honor of Miss D’s first birthday, and then having a kegger to celebrate our survival as parents?

The kid always wins.

I have spent the better part of the last week prepping for Dorothy’s party, and for some reason it all revolves around glittery tulle, monthly photos, DIY chalkboards and anything/everything purple (because apparently radiant orchid, the Pantone Color of the Year, is impossible to find). No beer or caramel apple sangria in sight… yet.

Don’t worry, friends. There is still an after party, but it’s no longer the main event. Something about “parental responsibility” or something…

Along those lines, I have had exactly zero time to blog. Ordering cake pops and putting myself in DIY hell? Plenty of time. Write a little post on anything other than first birthday-ness? Nope.

Bear with me. We will emerge on the other side eventually. For now, pull up a chair and admire the awesome that is Cammi of Ardent Owl Photography. Because every one-year-old needs a photo shoot in a pumpkin patch… obviously.
