It’s Stitch Fix day! Hooray!
Let’s see if this box makes up for last month’s disappointment. I’m still salty, especially since Stitch Fix has been overly promoting “beach getaway style”… otherwise known as EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR AND DIDN’T GET!
Anyway.
We are having family photos / Dorothy’s two year photos taken soon with the lovely Ardent Owl Photography, so I had a few specific requests for my July Stitch Fix:
1. A unique, summery top that I could pair with an ivory tulle midi skirt. {I was disappointed that nothing in my box goes with the tulle skirt. Then I put on the skirt I purchased without trying on, and realized I’m not a fan. I guess Stitch Fix gets away with one there.}
2. Bright colors, and something I could pull a palette from for the rest of my family.
3. Something with an oversized floral print.
Not too hard, right? So, without further adieu…

Pixley Ivy Petal Print Blouse – Small – $58
I love when this happens.
I pinned a Pixley halter dress in this exact fabric/pattern as style inspiration for my Fix. Stylist Callyn actually looked at my Pinterest board, and understood! Yay! Even better? It turns out I like the blouse version more, since I get to wear dresses in my SAHM life exactly never.
This top is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for in terms of family photos. Classic cut, unique print, bright colors…. check, check and check! Plus, we all know I’m a sucker for the tab sleeves. I can’t help myself.
Verdict: KEEP!
Color: Navy
My Pairings:
Necklace | Stitch Fix
Shorts | Old Navy (old)
Watch | JORD Wood Watch
Shoes | vintage, Hot House Market
Kut From The Kloth Siena Cropped Pant – 4 – $58
I was actually disappointed when I saw that there were pants in my box. I just have never received a pair from Stitch Fix that I liked, or that were worth the price tag.
That has now changed.
I love these pants.
They remind me of the beloved red jeans I had to let go of in an earlier Fix, and are HALF the cost. These are sleek, stretchy, and extremely flattering. I’m only 5’3″, and the cropped style is actually working on me for once. Plus, the red… I die. Amazing color!
Verdict: KEEP!
Color: Red
My Pairings:
Earrings | Trader Buck’s Flea Market
Watch | JORD Wood Watch
Blouse | The Limited (old)
Shoes | LC Lauren Conrad
Collective Concepts Brunswick Button-Front Blouse – Small – $54
This top is horrible. Everything from the cut to the pattern is just wrong.
I asked for bright colors, and this certainly has some bright color… but not quite what I was looking for. The neon pink? LOVE. The pairing with beige, gray, black and white? Not digging it.
Verdict : Returned
Color: White
My Pairings:
Watch | JORD Wood Watch
Jeans | Flying Monkey
Flip Flops | Old Navy (old)
Collective Concepts Phelan Abstract Chevron Print Short-Sleeve Blouse – Small – $68
Eh.
While I am a fan of black and white, I’m kind of over the chevron trend when it comes to clothing. The sleeves of this blouse are too long for my frame (I think), and the width of the top just isn’t flattering my torso. There is some nice stitching detail on the sleeves and around the neckline, but not enough to warrant $68.
Verdict: Returned.
Color: White
My Pairings:
Watch | JORD Wood Watch
Jeans | Flying Monkey
Flip Flops | Old Navy (old)
Bay to Baubles Katara Half-Daisy Necklace – $34
This is exactly my style when it comes to statement necklaces. Basically this could have come from Stella & Dot, but is a fraction of the cost. However, I own A LOT of statement necklaces…. and since I’m already breaking my own rules and buying two things, my husband may kill me if I keep a third item
Verdict: Returned… unfortunately. 🙁
Color: Coral

Well, that was fun! What do you think of my picks? Worth breaking my own “one item” rule?
I plan to temporarily suspend my monthly subscription to Stitch Fix today. It’s not that I don’t enjoy the service (obviously, since I’m 23 months in), but I just haven’t been overly impressed with my last few boxes. Ever since my favorite Stylist Hailey left the company, I feel like there has been a lack in personalization when it comes to my notes and my experience. It’s just time for a break, I think. I will definitely schedule another Fix soon – probably in the next few months when I need styled for another occasion – but for now, my husband’s credit card can rest easy.
You’re welcome, dear. 😉

I basically agree with you on everything you kept and everything you didn’t keep (except for the necklace-loved- but since you own a lot of statement necklaces, it was understandable). Love the first top, the pants, and the necklace!

I agree with everything you said. Definitely picked some great pieces to add to your wardrobe. I love those pants super cute, and they look so comfy.

I love the first blouse and I really love those red pants! I had asked for brightly colored cropped pants in my last Fix and they failed miserably, so I am jealous!

I’m in love with the first shirt! Good choices.

I LOVE those red pants, and they are so flattering on you. I just pinned your picture to my board, and I hope my stylist can find them in my size (or I may have to go searching for them myself…).
