I shared my baby registry tips a few weeks ago, based on the items we are recycling for Baby C2. Trust me, new mommas, when I say you don’t need all that much!
But, while we truly already have everything we could ever possibly need for a second baby, I still have a wish list. And it doesn’t contain diapers or formula, because practicality sucks.
Call it a shopping problem, but there are a ton of fun new baby items that didn’t exist when I was pregnant the first time around! Now that I have an idea of what might actually make my life easier, how can I resist?
Baby Brezza Formula Pro // Fisher Price Rock ‘N Play // Infant Optics Baby Video Monitor // Modern Burlap Muslin Swaddle // ErgoBaby Carrier // 4moms MamaROO // Skip Hop Duet Diaper Bag // Solly Baby Wrap // Milk Snob Car Seat Cover // Wine
Keep in mind, mommas – this is a wish list. Do I really NEED a formula version of a Keurig? Absolutely not. Would it be awesome? Absolutely YES.
But I do need wine. All the wine. T-minus: 2 months, 16 days.
I have already purchased some of these items, and I’m dying to try them out. That pretty blush pink Solly Baby Wrap is on pre-order, and I kind of drool every time I see it. I’ve also gifted myself Baby C2 a Milk Snob Car Seat Cover and a new Skip Hop Duet diaper bag (because who wants a diaper bag that actually looks like a diaper bag? Not me.). We received a video monitor system for Christmas, and I can happily report that it is already working out wonderfully with Big Sister.
Benefit to being a second time parent? You already have everything you need… therefore you can actually buy some things you WANT. It’s glorious.
Tell me, veteran mommas – what’s on your baby wish list? Anything I should look into before Baby C2 arrives?

you’re going to LOVE that mamaroo and the milk snob cover!

I’m so excited about the Milk Snob cover. I bought one for a friend’s baby shower right after I found out I was pregnant… more for someone else to try it out before I bought one! Haha! She has given it great reviews, so of course I had to snag one when the color I wanted went on sale!

That Mamaroo has been on my wish list ever since Mila was born. I never splurged on it, but I definitely plan to if/when we have another baby! Did you use a Rock N Play with Dorothy? It was hands down my favorite item when Mila was a baby.
Samantha Cotten says
I didn’t use a Rock N Play, and I have heard nothing but magical things about them! They’re cheap enough I think I may get one to have on the second floor of our house. That way I have the swing/bouncer upstairs, and the Rock N Play down in our basement for when we’re hanging out down there.

I’m glad you posted this! I think it’s helpful hearing from 2nd (or 3rd+) time mom’s about what they actually would love/use because you know what you’re talking about!! 😉 I wasn’t planning on registering for a rock n’ play since we’re asking for a swing and a pack n’ play (hello, small house!) but a family member is loaning a like-new one to have on hand if we want- so I’m pretty happy about that! And yes. Wine.
Samantha Cotten says
Always wine. 😉
I have heard great things about the Rock N Play, so we’ll probably try that out this time. Practically new hand-me-downs are always great!

I love this list! I’m getting a sling and a ‘fancy’ bassinet and a backpack instead of a diaper bag… I’m sure there are more things that will occur to me, though! I will say it’s way easier getting ready for a second kid since I know I at least have the essentials!
Samantha Cotten says
Ooo, a fancy bassinet! That’s a great idea! I may have to add that one, since the pack ‘n play bassinet isn’t nearly as pretty. 😉 One other things I’m loving about shopping for a second baby is that I get to actually pick everything out. I feel like everyone else picked everything out for my first daughter (seriously, I don’t think I picked out her clothes until she was over a year old), so this time it’s fun to put more of my style into C2’s gear!

Great list! I need to bookmark it for my future!
