I took a short hiatus from my Stitch Fix reviews for a few reasons.
One | I didn’t exactly have access to a full length mirror until our little IKEA trip last month. Trust me, I tried the self-timer on my camera. And I ended up with this.
Two | I wasn’t sure anyone cared. Turns out, you do.
I’m entering the new year with a renewed focus for this blog, which means I want everything I put into this space to be quality. I used to write these reviews, and basically tell you if I liked or disliked the item – and I’m pretty sure that doesn’t help you at all. From here on out, I’m giving you everything I can – name, size, price, my pairings, and even the stylist cards.
I mean, you obviously need all the information. How else will you “negotiate” with your husband to keep the whole box? Wink, wink.
Before we get started with this month’s five, know that I have not decided what I am keeping yet. My stylist, Hailey, did such a good job this month that I’m not confident that I can make the decision by myself. I need comments, people. I have until Monday, when the mailman arrives. Help a momma out.
So, without further adieu, here’s a montage of awkward bedroom selfies (aka: my January Fix). I promise I’m working on the photography aspect. Bear with me.

41Hawthorn Penny Draped Colorblock Cardigan – Small – $68
Typically cardigans like this overwhelm my 5’3″ frame. I was pleasantly surprised, however, by the way this sweater overall flatters me! Super comfy (part cashmere!), somewhat stylish, and something I can wear every day as a SAHM. Oh, and the color? To die for. The only problem? Hand wash only.
Verdict: Kept!
Color: Burgundy
My Pairings:
Statement Necklace | Charming Charlie (sold out, similar found here)
Tank | Target
Jeans | White House Black Market (sold out)
Shoes | Sperry Top-Sider

Skies are Blue Bonnie Blouse – Small – $58
I was sure that this blouse was the keeper when I initially opened my Fix. Seriously, this shirt is my style to a T. It’s blue, patterned, nice vertical stripe and… it’s a tab sleeve. I must have a secret obsession about the tab sleeve, because they’re taking over my closet. As in, I own at least 15.
But it’s so cute, though.
Verdict: Returned
Color: Navy
My Pairings:
Necklace | family heirloom
Jeans | White House Black Market (sold out)
Riding Boots | Frye

Olive & Oak Bernette Mixed Knit Sweater – Small – $58
Half of me likes this sweater. Half of me hates it.
Super soft, super cozy, and super boxy. Maybe it’s the boyfriend jean my stylist suggested as a pairing, but I’m just feeling very rectangular in this get up.
Verdict: Returned
Color: Teal Green
My Pairings:
Necklace | J. Crew (no longer available)
Jeans | Stitch Fix
Shoes | so old, I have long forgotten

Kut From The Kloth Emmett Boyfriend Jean – 4 – $78
I’m starting to like the boyfriend jean style. Skinny jeans are uncomfortable 98 percent of the time, and I think this cut is a nice casual alternative. I’m just not sure these jeans are worth the price.
Although, I currently only have one pair of jeans to my name. Maybe I should purchase these just so that I don’t constantly wear black leggings… I’m such a mom.
Verdict: Returned
Color: Navy
My Pairings:
Necklace | Stitch Fix
Blouse | Old Navy (sold out)
Shoes | so old, I have long forgotten

Street Level Juno Small Folded Clutch – $38
*insert happy dance* Stitch Fix FINALLY sent me a purse! Well, a clutch, really. I still rock the diaper bag, but I always stuff my clutch inside, so this is perfect! This could be a good winter option (since my current bag is neon yellow), and really could be nice for a girl’s night out. I’m also loving the price.
Verdict: Returned
Color: Brown

Bonnie blouse or the cardigan!
G-Race says
Get the jeans! Skinny jeans are the devil. Just wear them with something more form fitting on top so you don’t feel boxy. Also, your hair looks ginger and fabulous.
Samantha Cotten says
Right?! Is it wrong to take a photo of yourself in super good lighting and tell your hairstylist that you want the color currently on top of your head? Because it never looks like that in real life.
Kendra @ Partners in Crime says
I LOVE THE CARDIGAN ON YOU!
Anna says
Definitely Bonnie Blouse
Katrin says
Blouse and/or cardigan! They look great on you and seem like very unique pieces. The sweater on the other hand looks like you can get in a different store for a lot cheaper and same with the clutch. TJMaxx or Marshall’s probably has those for $10.
Adrian says
I love the cardigan such a great fit on you just not a fan of the cost. You can definitely get trendy cardigans for cheaper at places like Macy’s, Forever 21, or TJ Maxx (they are good quality too). The jeans look great depending on the feel and everything they could be worth the price. Jeans can last you forever so it could be a great investment piece. I love boyfriend jeans. The blouse looked great as well.
Amanda says
I kept some jeans of the same brand from one of my fixes and have been really happy with them. They’re colored so I don’t wear them a ton but they’re really comfortable! The blouse and cardigan look good too.
Collette says
I am going to steal that bonnie blouse. And you must keep it and only it.
Samantha Cotten says
I kept the 41Hawthorn Penny Draped Colorblock Cardigan. I loved the Bonnie Blouse, but I just have too many shirts in that same style in my closet. Plus, I needed something to wear to my husband’s birthday dinner this weekend, and the cardigan was the perfect option! Normally I would balk at the price, however I had a few credits on my account which brought down the cost significantly.
And now you know… 🙂
Janet says
Oh my goodness. Now that is a FIX! First, that color of that cardigan is gorgeous on you! The clutch is versatile. I mean, I would seriously have kept the whole box. (Maybe not the Olive & Oak Sweater.) I enjoy more colorful pieces, but that is just a personal preference.)
