Dorothy’s Lego Shirt | JamieSewCute
Hold up.
My kid is TWO?!
Well, she’s technically not two until tomorrow, but last weekend we celebrated sweet Dorothy’s big birthday with a Lego-themed party and our closest family and friends.*
*This is equivalent to like 25 adults, and two children. Nothing is small in our family.
If there is one thing Dorothy loves, it’s her Lego Duplos. And if there is one thing that is nearly impossible to find, it’s girly Lego Duplo stuff. That’s why I enlisted the help of Karli over at September FARM / Party Paper to design some girl-approved Lego party goodies.

I wanted to make this party simple and easy. Cake and ice cream, presents, and a bounce house. Oh, a bounce house isn’t easy? It is when your in-laws have the hook up. I’m now in the camp that firmly believes that every party needs a bounce house. We could have skipped everything else, and Dorothy would have still been overjoyed just to jump.
If you remember, when we sang “Happy Birthday” to Dorothy last year, she went into a full-on meltdown.
Even though we practiced (yes, we practiced the birthday song), this year was similar.
Less tears, more clinging to my chest.
Maaaaybe her third birthday will be the charm?
We ended up ordering pizzas and salads for everyone still hanging around at dinner time, started a bonfire, had a few games of pool and giant Jenga, and let the girls play with all of the new dress-up clothes. Pretty sure everyone had a good time… for a two year old’s birthday party. 😉

Anyone else go super simple for the second birthday party? Who else believes bounce houses are a toddler’s best friend?
