Have you met my bae?

He’s pretty great. Courtny and I are headed into 10 years (that’s a freaking decade) of being together next month, and so far we’re both still living… and still in love. It’s a miracle.

So in honor of Valentine’s Day tomorrow, let’s talk about five little reasons why I love Mr. Cotten shall we?

uno | He always, always, opens the hot tub for me while I wait inside. This is incredibly chivalrous when it’s snowing, blowing, or below 0 degrees (Indiana is a perfect locale for a hot tub, btw.). To top it off, he always closes the cover when we get out while I make a selfish mad dash for the warmth.

That’s love, people.

dos | He knows about my hatred of dishes, specifically the half-eaten food residue left behind, and always volunteers to clean the pans. Because leftover eggs from breakfast combined with soap and water physically makes me gag.

Did I mention we met in the dish room at the local Pizza Hut? That’s a story for another time…

tres | He might be the best daddy in the world. The way he plays with Dorothy – dancing in the kitchen, chasing her through the house, building the world’s tallest block towers – it just simply melts my heart. I can’t wait until she starts painting his nails and doing his hair… because #dbunny totally has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

Those two were meant to be BFFs.

quatro | He works his butt off for our little family. Yes, I tease him about his “cush” job and his Crayola 101 courses all through college, but in reality I’m pretty proud of his career. He wants to give his girls the best, and D and I are pretty thankful for that.
