Sock Ons: My mom likes to say that, “socks are the devil.” Our neighbor, Jenna, gave us these curious little contraptions when Dorothy was first born. Basically, Sock Ons are a spandex “sock” that holds the baby’s socks on their feet. Absolutely genius.
Prepare for everyone to ask you about these, since it really looks like your kid has something wrong with their feet, but it’s so worth it to not be chasing loose socks all over the mall/gym/house/everywhere you can imagine.
Cloud b South Machine Soother: Our house has incredibly squeaky floors. As in, when I’m putting the baby to bed, I’m always afraid our floors will wake her up. It’s like a dance down the hall to avoid the extra noisy spots.
Insert this sound machine. Sleep Sheep covers the sound of our floors, and anything else that could wake Dorothy up, and turns off automatically after 45 minutes. Seriously, this thing has been a lifesaver.
Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether: I balked at the thought of a $20 teething toy too. This giraffe is so worth it. Dorothy actually opens her mouth automatically when we squeak this toy. Sophie is perfectly shaped for teething babies, and she handles the drool really well. And, when your kid is teething, you’ll pay the money to keep them from whining constantly.
Taggies Baby Girl Zebra Blanket: This blanket is super thick, and the zebra is easy for babies to see. It’s a two-for-one! We use this blankie all the time for when Dorothy is rolling on the ground, and we absolutely love it.
Bright Starts Lots of Links: My friend, Michelle, bought me these links as a baby shower gift. Really, I was unsure of what to do with them. Then one day I needed something to keep Dorothy busy when I was changing her, and these rings saved me. They’re perfect for teething, and the colors are so interesting to the babes. In fact, we hang them from her car seat and anywhere else possible to keep her entertained.
Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker: This seat resides at my parents’ house. Dorothy LOVES the elephant that plays music. Plus, extra bonus, she gets a major kick out of the fact that she can rock the seat herself.
Plus, for mommy, my kid loves to just sit in this thing. Anything for an extra 20 minutes of “me” time.
aden & anais swaddle blankets: Dorothy does not like to be swaddled. As in, if her hands are covered in any way its like the world is ending.
These blankets, however, are her favorite for teething. They are thin enough that she can shove them in her mouth and suck on them. Maybe not their intended purpose, but whatever makes her happy!
