I had to think long and hard on this one.
You know those women who always gush about how wonderful pregnancy is? I’m not one of those people. The last six weeks of my pregnancy were so downright horrible that they made up for the other 35 weeks of relative ease.
But last week while in the shower, watching yet another clump of my own hair swirl down the drain, I actually thought those dreaded words.
“This makes me miss being pregnant.”
*shudder*
Of course the blogger in me wanted to immediately write a post about all the things that I miss about carrying our darling D in my belly for more than nine months, but I ran into a problem – I couldn’t think of anything else I missed. At all.
So, like I said, I have thought long and hard about this. Today, I present to you the ONLY five things that I miss about being pregnant.
1.
I have always lost my hair by the handful in the shower. Maybe it’s a curly hair thing, but all I know is my husband hates it. Mostly because he’s normally the person wrangling a rat’s nest of brown locks out of the clogged drain.
Turns out there is one benefit of being pregnant. For 40 41 weeks I didn’t lose ANY hair in the shower, and it totally showed. I mean check this out – 2 weeks postpartum vs. 4 months postpartum:
Pre-natal vitamins are amazing.
2.
When you’re pregnant, no one thinks twice if you order two appetizers, an entree, and dessert with your dinner. And then also eat the entire table’s basket of bread.
Nom.
3.
Speaking of food, I used to have an awesome shelf to hold my snacks.
And, apparently, my cat.
4.
When you’re pregnant, you suddenly stop having body issues. Who cares what I look like in a bikini? I’m carrying another human being in there!
However, this perk goes the opposite direction after the kid enters the world. Anyone know of any cute one-pieces that would be suitable for Vegas in May?
5.
I have to go there.
When I was pregnant, my boobs were fantastic.
They ranked right up there with the fabulous hair thing.
Am I missing anything? Probably not. 😉
