I’ve done a terrible job at documenting life the last few weeks, since selling our home and finding somewhere to land is taking over my every thought. Instead of giving the run down on how incredibly stressed I am (I’ll save that for another post), I’ve decided to focus today on what has made me smile lately.
Because life’s short, people. Get happy.
For example, I attended a gorgeous baby shower last weekend for my bestie Amber and her beautiful bump. Seriously, it was Pinterest-worthy and had an ombred cake (nice work, Randi and Rikki). Since it apparently takes major life events to see these girls, I chatted instead of taking photos of the details. Story of my life.
Speaking of Pinterest-worthy, my favorite photographers (Bram Photography and Ardent Owl Photography, in case you haven’t been following along) posted an incredible blog preview of the Parks Wedding. Just look, because I can’t even put the beauty into words.
While I love all of the photos, I seriously LOL at this photo of us with the newlyweds.
Then there was that time when my 88-year-old grandfather took a 200 mph ride around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, thanks to Indy Racing Experience.
I’m not going to lie, I’m totally jealous, but seeing Grandpa do this made my heart happy.
You see, the last time Grandpa made laps around the oval it was a bit more illegal. The day before he left for the Korean War in the 1950’s Grandpa drove his own vehicle into IMS, turned onto the track, and made several laps before security was on his tail. They never caught him.
That’s right. My grandpa is kind of awesome.
You can watch his much faster, yet more legal, ride for yourself. I recommend starting at about the 1:25 mark.
More happiness? I have been so blessed to have a few opportunities thrown in the direction of this blog. I’m co-hosting the Uncorked & Unwined Link Up (still time to join in!), I’m about to take on more roles within Indy Social Media Moms, and perhaps most exciting of all – I’ve been selected to be a part of the first panel of Blog Ambassadors for The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.
More details to come, obviously, but I seriously can’t wipe this smile from my face. Just look at this awesome China-themed welcome gift I received!
While visiting the China exhibit and sharing it with you all will be amazing, I’m not sure it’ll do much to cure the travel bug that I’ve caught (again). Since vacation is definitely not in the plans right now, Dot and I have made the best of the situation.
Welcome to Cotten Beach.
Not quite the Caribbean, but I’m sure between my Expedia addiction and that adorable face we can surely convince Daddy to take us to the turquoise waters soon… right?
What is making you happy right now?

So good to see all you ladies doing well and starting families. Beautiful! You deserve those great opportunities, can’t wait to read about how they all go. Congrats! Oh and what makes me happy are the little things like spending time with my love and puppy.
