Things I’m Looking Forward To…| Friday 5

Can anyone believe that today is the last Friday in March? Like, when did that happen? April is coming in hot, which means track meets, Easter, bridal showers, birthday parties and yet another girl’s trip to IKEA (because we didn’t do enough damage three months ago, apparently).

Also, my kid officially becomes a big girl this month. No more referring to her age in months after the big 1-8. What?! I have a one-and-a-half year old?! I’m pretty sure I’m still recovering from her birth!

Anyway.

I’m not sure how all of you single parents out there do it. My husband has been away for work since Monday, and I’m simply exhausted.

I mean, that face. That’s 50 percent of the time. The other half is eating crayons, playing with electrical outlets, throwing her lunch on the floor and pooping her pants.

Anyone want to guess our Frozen count for this week?

But we are both oh-so excited because Daddy is coming home today! Yay! I’ve only been looking forward to today since about an hour after he left…

Daddy’s first assignment when he returns is Dorothy duty, because momma is getting a manicure.

My bestie Lana decided to schedule us for a little Saturday morning girl time, which is awesome because my nails need some serious attention. I can’t even tell you the last time I had a professional manicure, which is a very sad thing.

I’m loving these nude and gold designs for springtime. Light, refreshing and classy. Just, yes.

 

three | swap

Morning manicures will be followed by my SATC-themed Clothing Swap Party tomorrow evening. I’m so super excited for this, because a.) I love new clothes and b.) Even if the premise bombs, it’s a night with some of my favorite people. Nothing could be better than some girly beverages and Carrie Bradshaw.

I can’t lie. My favorite is Miranda.

Who can forget this mean muggin’? And look how small she was just a year ago!

I’m pretty excited for Easter this year. I think we just might be old enough to do a little egg hunting. Maybe. It’s a rarity here in central Indiana, but here’s hoping for some warm weather for the Easter Bunny!

Speaking of the Bunny, I think holidays are one of the best parts of being a parent. What is more fun than being the Easter Bunny? Dorothy’s Easter basket is a little different than last year’s version, but if you’re still looking for ideas I’ll share this year’s goodies soon.

Note to self: buy Peeps for momma, hide from kid.
