Let’s talk vino.
If you haven’t noticed, I’m kind of a wino. I enjoy a good merlot, or pinot grigio, or even a chardonnay. Heck, if it’s the only option, I’ll sippy sip on some moscato. I’m hardly a wine snob. I don’t discriminate based on color, type, label, or even price (hey yo, Two Buck Chuck!).
Clearly, this Sip Happens Party link-up is right up my alley.
Even before our last Sip Happens Party was dubbed “award-winning,” it was very obvious that we would need a repeat performance. My co-host, Kristin @ Walking By Faith Blog, and I decided to host yet another fabulous event for our best gals, but this time we were going all out.
Back-2-back champions? I think so.
We booked an after-hours party at literally the cutest boutique in downtown Noblesville. If you haven’t been to karisma, you’re simply missing out. Not only did they allow us to bring in wine and decorations, all of our ladies received 15 percent off the entire store!
Wine-influenced shopping at it’s finest, my friends. I may have ended up with the softest fleece-lined aztec leggings, and I think half of us purchased the same ruched 3/4 shirt. Oh, and of course baby Dot ended up with an Indiana “home” onesie. She’s not spoiled or anything.
Since glittery cuppies from The Flying Cupcake aren’t exactly nutritional, we ended our evening across the street at The Copper Still Kitchen & Bar. The bartenders there were nice enough to open our wine earlier in the evening, since these party planners forgot to bring a corkscrew to their own wine party.
I’ve never looked more like an alcoholic than when I was carrying two open bottles of white down the street… by myself.
Of course, more than shopping and food, Sip Happens is all about the wine.
When this party’s featured wine, Goats Do Roam, was discovered to be unavailable in our extremely worldly corner of the midwest, we were instructed to pick a wine with an animal theme. So, in an effort for cheap and easy, the bestie and I made our way to the local Trader Joe’s and ended up with these $4.99 gems.
La Granja 360 Garnacha Syrah | La Granja 360 Tempranillo | Monkey Hollow Winery Combined Dry White*
*Let’s back up a little. I actually purchased the Combined from Monkey Hollow Winery during the Wine to Water Gala last month. It was not $4.99, but it’s an Indiana wine with an awesome label. Insert our “farm” theme. Also, Monkey Hollow if you’re listening, I’m still dreaming about your Chambourcin.
Can I talk about how perfect these labels are? I’m loving the flying pig – so whimsical and fun! In terms of taste, though, my personal favorite was the garnacha syrah. I found the tempranillo to be a little too sweet for my taste buds, and the garnacha syrah was the perfect deep red. Neither were bad for $5 wines!
But, in the end, Monkey Hollow Winery’s Combined Dry White took home the honors from these amateur wine connoisseurs. I’m a white wine girl at heart, so I’m not mad at that. Score for local wineries!
What local wines are you loving right now? I’m always open to suggestions!

Until next time, keep sippin’ lovely people.

What a fun event! Looks like you all had loads of fun. I went wine tasting this weekend and my experience was fun, but the wine was not enjoyable. I’ve discovered I am not a wine person. My favorite was the Moscato. So I guess I am a wine snob. Lol!
Samantha @ Cotten Tales says
I’m jealous of your wine tasting weekend in California! Wine is definitely an acquired taste. I used to only like moscato, but now it is just too sweet for me!

So fun, and I love all the details! I totally would have come if I wasn’t on vacation! You were like 4 blocks away from my house! Karisma is so stinking cute, and that’s awesome she gave you guys a discount. Copper Still is also one of our favorite local places to eat!
Samantha @ Cotten Tales says
I didn’t even know Copper Still existed until Diva Night on the Square. The fried pickles are the bomb. 🙂

Seriously, I was so not aware that were so many bloggers in Noblesville! I have been wanting to stop into Karisma for a while now, but of course I never do. It looks like you had a great party!
Samantha @ Cotten Tales says
You need to check them out! They post a lot of their new stuff on Instagram and Facebook, and will hold or ship it to you if you can’t make it in. Dangerous!
Hamilton County bloggers… taking over the interwebs. 😉
