I’m about 30 weeks late in starting this blog. To get you up to speed, I feel it’s only appropriate to give you a glimpse of my life over the last seven months (roughly).
I suspected that I may be pregnant on day two of a casino site visit for my job. Not only was I puking out the side of my colleague’s car deep in the hills of southern Indiana (TMI, I know), but I also woke up with a nose bleed and was craving salad. Anyone that knows me knows that I despise lettuce, so at this point I knew I was either pregnant or had some sort of non-baby parasite.
Sure enough, three days later I was standing in a Chicago hotel room bathroom at 6 a.m., half asleep and holding a pee stick with two pink lines.
So, did I contain my excitement and mentally plan a heartwarming way to tell my husband when I returned home that evening? Of course not. I could only function enough to text him this picture of the pregnancy test.
Doesn’t this make you teary-eyed?
Since then, a number of life-changing events have taken place. We promoted our parents to grandparents at 8 weeks (correction: Courtny spilled the beans to his dad approximately 30 seconds after finding out himself). We announced our pregnancy to the world at 12 weeks with a pretty awesome website. We spent our 5 year anniversary with an ultrasound technician, who informed us at 18 weeks that Baby C is a girl. At 25 weeks, we took an amazing babymoon to our favorite island of Sint Maarten (more on that in another post).
As if all of that and more wasn’t enough to mentally handle, I’ve become a ball of hormones and emotions. Like literally. Round.
Behold! The evolution of a preggo.
Thankfully, pregnancy has been relatively easy for me. Baby C is already making her presence known in the Cotten family – as evidenced by her baby gear taking over our house, and her feet invading my ribs.
There is so much more I could share about my pregnancy so far, but I promised the CliffsNotes version… this time. Prepare for many more updates as the Cotten family prepares for D-Day!
Official Countdown: 10 weeks 0 days.
