It’s the last week of February here in the arctic (formerly known as central Indiana), and today we finally got to bust out Dorothy’s new snowsuit. I can assure you it’s not our first real snowfall of the season, but certainly the first one accompanied by above zero temperatures.
It’s currently 28 degrees. Might as well call that “spring.”
To be honest, we have had a pretty mild winter in terms of snow. With it being so late in the season, I was beginning to think the tags would never come off Dorothy’s hot pink snow getup (and you know, she’ll outgrow it by next year and any future children will be boys… because that’s my luck). Even so, my dad has decided he will continue to buy Dorothy ridiculously expensive toddler snowsuits every Christmas since it apparently repels snow.
But, today was the day. Today we had no plans, and a fresh five inches of snow. Today we bundled up to play outside as a family, like a bunch of kids. We got out Dorothy’s new sled (she’s not spoiled at all…), and took turns pulling her around the yard – much to her delight. We made snow angels, and threw snowballs, and laughed at Dorothy’s determination to army crawl through the flurries.
And she loved every single minute of it. We did too, to be honest.
What a perfect little morning with my beautiful little family. I’m pretty sure my heart has never been so happy for a lazy Saturday snow day.

It looks like you all had such a good time. Champ (my dog) and I had a snow day I blogged about as well. He also played in it today. Besides playing with him in the snow, Netflix and warm home cooked meals make me happy on days like this.
Honestly…as much as I’m ready for spring, I LOVED the timing of this snow. I love having an entire fun weekend to sled and play and just cancel all errands that needed to happen. Playing in the snow as a family is one of my very favorite things ever. So glad you all got enjoy it!!
