When we purchased our new home last fall, one of its main selling features was the one-bedroom apartment located above the garage. Because my husband works remotely, having a designated office for him to “leave” and go to work every day was so ideal. He doesn’t have to worry about waking the baby when he’s on a conference call during naptime, and I don’t have to worry about a screaming kid impeding his creativity.
Plus, all of his technology/video games/nerd stuff has a home outside of our main living space. Bonus.
But, as I mentioned, the office formerly served as an apartment… for a student. And even though the set-up is perfect for my work-from-home husband, let’s be honest. It still smells like a collegiate bachelor pad up there.
Welcome to Funky (smelling) Town.
The entire office has been thoroughly cleaned (and painted), yet the smell remains. Every time I go up there, I find myself saying, “Seriously. What stinks?” Since I’m currently ramping up to spring cleaning mode, I found my way to the air care aisle of our local Walmart to try once again to eliminate the man stink.
It just isn’t clean until it smells clean. AmIright?
Thank God for these Febreze NOTICEables plug-ins. They’re not super girly, and they have some amazing spring scents. I went with the Ginger Verbena for the office, because I like flowers and he likes Moscow Mules (ginger scent = ginger beer when you’re a man, apparently). Not only are we both happy, but the man stink is GONE.

#Hallelujah
Oh, and you know the husband can’t be the only one enjoying the smelly goods. I also picked up this 719 Walnut Avenue Sunny Sangria candle for the kitchen that is currently rocking my world.
Since my house is radiating the fresh scents, and today marks the official first day of Spring, Mother Nature is surely going to get the hint soon… right?

What is your go-to spring scent? I’m also partial to Airwick’s Sunshine Cott(e)n.
Get it? I crack myself up. 😉
