Over the weekend, Mr. Cotten and I hosted our first “Camp Cotten” at my parent’s pond. Friends, let me enlighten you. If you’re in need of a party theme, this is a good one:
Adult Summer Camp.
That’s right. Salute those shorts.
We’re talking tents, family-style dinner, fishing, pond floating, dock-jumping contests, s’mores, cornhole, glow-in-the-dark badminton and a keg of our favorite brew… all over two solid days of awesome weather.
This, my friends, was adulting done right.
The party continued all the next day, which meant the kiddo got to join in on Adult Summer Camp. Even though she was a little apprehensive at first (and nearly drowned mommy), Dorothy took to her first time in the pond like a champ.
And when I say champ, I mean this kid might be diving before she turns two.
Camp Cotten = success. Next year, we’ll have customized event Speedos for all our guests. 😉 Thanks to all of our friends who made the trip to enjoy a perfect summer weekend with us!
And thanks to my parents, who did a TON to make sure the pond was ready… let us take over their house… and fed our starving friends Sunday evening…they rock.
