So, in case you missed it…

Surprise! I’m knocked up.

Baby C2 is coming in hot. I thought I was semi-prepared for this pregnancy, clothing-wise. But, when I pulled out the old tote of maternity clothes (what little I actually kept from the first go-round), I opened it to find only summer dresses and tanks.

Just a thought, but they’re probably not going to do me much good in the arctic known as central Indiana this winter.

Since I have been rocking maternity pants since I hit 7 weeks (a good 10-15 weeks sooner than I did with Dorothy), I knew I needed to get some staple maternity pieces STAT. The belly is real, people. Thankfully, Stitch Fix recently started stocking maternity clothes! I had been disappointed with my last several Fixes, and even took a few months off from my subscription, but I scheduled this December maternity Fix with high hopes.

Stylist Jessica did not let me down. In fact, she renewed my faith in Stitch Fix again. This was the first time in a very long time where I really wanted to keep everything in my box. I even broke my “one item rule” and kept two things.

I’m growing a human. I deserve it.

So, let’s get to it! Keep in mind that I received this Fix in early December 2015, and kept it a secret from all of you until now. At the time of these photos, I was almost 14 weeks along with baby No. 2.

Market & Spruce Corinna Striped Dolman Top – Medium – $48

MarketSpruceCorinna

So, I’ve received various versions of this dolman shirt at least five times from Stitch Fix. This was apparently the lucky day, because the Corinna gets to live in my closet! Black and gray are my jam, and the fact that it’s not technically a maternity shirt makes me feel better about spending the money.

Stitch Fix did send me this shirt in a size up from my normal size, but I kind of like it that way. I think it gives off a more relaxed feel, and works great with leggings. Plus, it’s obviously going to accommodate my growing bump.

Verdict: Keep!

Color: Grey
My Pairings:
Necklace | SweetBees (baby teething necklace – similar here)
Leggings | BlackMilk Clothing (similar here)
Boots | Hunter

Skies are Blue Belka Quilted Jacket – Medium – $88

SkiesAreBlueBelka

I specifically asked for a maternity winter coat from my stylist. This Belka coat isn’t maternity, but again, Stitch Fix just sized up my normal not-pregnant size.

I love the style of this coat (a faux fur hood – hello!), however it just wasn’t warm enough for Indiana winters. It’s very thin, and would be perfect for somewhere that rarely sees snow/cold.

Verdict: Return

Color: Black

Loveappella Maternity Hattan Lace Front Raglan Maternity Knit Top – Small – $54

Loveappella Hattan

This was a hard decision. I love this Hattan shirt, but the fit just wasn’t perfect (plus my husband wasn’t about to let me keep the whole box so I had to get picky!). The sleeves fell somewhere between full length and 3/4 sleeved, and it was awkward. Plus, this top is EXTREMELY long. I know I’m about to get rounder, but the length was a bit outrageous for my 5’3″ frame.

Verdict: Return

Color: White
My Pairings:
Necklace | J.Crew (old)

Rune Kiley Maternity Ankle Zip Legging – Small – $58

RuneKileyDear Rune leggings,

I miss you.

Sigh. These are some great maternity leggings. Full panel that goes over the belly, nice construction, a fun color and THE FREAKING ZIPPERS. Swoon.

I just couldn’t make myself pay $58 for them. I tried, but I just couldn’t. Sad day.

Verdict: Return

Color: Navy

Madigan Tessy Scoop Neck Maternity Knit Top – Small – $48

MadiganTessyI love the fit of this top. Yes, it’s technically maternity, but I’m definitely going to rock this when I’m not carrying a child. Great scoop neck, good length, and 3/4 sleeved.

And my most favorite part…

Machine washable. Booyah.

Verdict: Keep!

Color: Blue
My Pairings:
Necklace | Stitch Fix
Jeans | Gap Maternity (similar here)
Boots | Minnetonka

I love the things you kept! And those leggings are lovely, but I hear you…that’s a heck of a lot of money for a pair of leggings.
