Everyone and their mom in the blogging world is sharing cute Halloween photos today, and I’m no different. It’s a beautiful day in central Indiana (as in, it’s almost 80 degrees on the second day of NOVEMBER), and my originality must be outside with the sunshine.
But really, how can I not share my adorable Pumpkin Spice?
We were invited to go trick-or-treating with our besties in the big city. Their neighborhood is ideal for maximum candy acquisition, so obviously we had to go where the gettin’ is good. Some homemade chili, cornbread and pumpkin beer, and the adults were set to wrangle three two-year-old’s into their costumes and hit the streets.
Could this get any cuter?
For being two, these kids did AWESOME. They said, “trick or treat!” when they needed to, they said, “thank you!” to everyone, and they only occasionally tried to take handfuls of candy from the bowl.
Trick-or-treating with toddlers is hysterical… and so stinking cute. I highly recommend it.
Dorothy was so funny. Not only did she require a sucker in hand at all times, but she was all about getting to the next house. She was constantly forging ahead of her pals to get to the next bowl of candy.
I can’t say I blame her.
After we sufficiently filled our buckets with treats, Mr. Cotten, Pumpkin Spice and I headed to downtown Lebanon for Mischief on Meridian. All of the downtown businesses were open for trick-or-treating, including my in-laws’ dance studio, and there were a ton of fun Halloween activities happening in the streets.
Pretty much, Halloween was Dorothy’s dream. She had FIVE suckers in one evening, got to wear her pumpkin for hours on end, and now knows we have a stash of “cankie”…
…and asks for it a thousand times a day.

Holidays with kids (and friends!) is just so much more fun. Who agrees?
